Presented by Diversity Committee and the New York Chapter of the American Planners Association, this year's Hindsight Conference calls on planners and policy makers to center racial justice in our understanding of health and the environment. In Fairfield County, CT, one of the nation’s most racially segregated counties, access to safe and affordable housing is not on the radar of a majority of white, suburban residents. It is not their problem.
By elevating the inherent connections between housing and regional well-being across health, education, and economic development metrics, the Fairfield County Center for Housing Opportunity is working across sectors to reframe the narrative of affordable housing – placing access to housing opportunity at the center of a collaborative movement toward regional vibrancy and thriving communities. Join our panelists to learn more about interdisciplinary approaches to tackling housing inequity in Connecticut.
Speakers:
Emily Byrne, Connecticut Voices for Children
