To help Fairfield County communities understand and address housing challenges, Regional Plan Association compiled data and analysis on the demographics and housing characteristics of all 23 towns and cities in the county which are housed in the Fairfield County Housing Needs Assessment. The Assessment includes information such as housing type (single-family versus multi-family), housing tenure (owner or renter-occupied units), size, and cost, as well as a housing gap analysis that shows the difference between housing available in each town, and what residents of the town and region can afford to pay.
Fairfield County Housing Alliance members join Ellis Calvin, Data Research Manager for Regional Plan Association, who is also the lead author of the Assessment. They will discuss key findings and explain what those findings actually look like on the ground. Using data and real world examples, the group will outline housing solutions that can be implemented at the municipal level.
