Darien Talks Housing: Noroton Heights Walking Tour
The Darien Talks Housing event series presented in partnership with Fairfield County’s Center for Housing Opportunity returned with an in-person walking tour of the Noroton Heights area and The Heights Darien development on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 29.
Darien residents and zoning experts from DesegregateCT facilitated a walking tour of the Noroton Heights area of Darien to highlight the town’s progress developing transit-oriented communities that include affordable housing. Participants learned about The Heights Darien, other affordable developments planned for Darien, the town’s local affordable housing plan, and the local, state, and federal policies shaping the community’s housing future.
Congressmember Jim Himes will participate in the walking tour and speak at the community center at The Heights Darien about the importance of local zoning, affordable housing, the progress Darien is making, and what it means for the future of the town and the rest of Fairfield County.
