Fairfield County is one of the most segregated places in the country with institutional racism embedded into the fabric of our land use and zoning regulations. This current reality is the legacy of a history of explicit government policies at the local, state and federal level intentionally designed to exclude Black and Brown residents from living together with white residents in our communities. The time for change is now.
Segregationist land use policy is not only a moral issue, but also a social, economic, and environmental one and it's hurting all of us. How did Fairfield County become one of the most racially segregated counties in the country? How is Desegregate CT addressing this issue through land use reform? How can you engage on this issue?
Join us for a frank conversation - one of three in the Fairfield County Housing Alliance Summer Webinar Series - on how we got where we are and where we go from here.
