Fairfield County is one of the most segregated places in the country with institutional racism embedded into the fabric of our land use and zoning regulations. This current reality is the legacy of a history of explicit government policies at the local, state and federal level intentionally designed to exclude Black and Brown residents from living together with white residents in our communities. The time for change is now.
How does racial segregation and the resulting housing inequity in Fairfield County directly impact our region’s health outcomes, drive our achievement gaps, and negatively impact economic development, growth and resiliency? How can you and/or your organization become engaged on this issue? Join us for a conversation - one of three in the Fairfield County Housing Alliance Summer Webinar Series - to explore these questions.
